Before you go for waxing
You should never wax if you are on an acne medication such as accutane or any other skin thinning or blood thinning medications. Waxing while on these medications can cause the skin to lift. Steer clear of waxing any area with varicose veins, sunburn, an STI or contagious skin infection. If you have undergone cosmetic treatments such as chemical peels you may have to wait up to 6 months before it is safe to wax.
Don’t sunbathe 24 hours before or after your treatment. Tanning before treatment can cause the skin to lift.
If you have a low pain tolerance, take an aspirin or ibuprofen 30 min before your appointment to reduce discomfort.
Don’t shave in between.Waxing slows down and reduces hair growth. Hair also grows much thinner thus making it easier to remove and less painful when waxed. Shaving just one time in between will negate all that is gained from waxing and can further irritate follicles which can cause ingrown hair.
It is recommend to get a wax done 2-4 days prior to your special event.
